Motherhood and Birth as Initiation
Honoring the Sacred Rites of Women

Welcome, Mama.
What a journey it’s been.
It’s been a powerful, unique to you journey and one that deserves great honor, recognition, and holistic nourishing support.
Traditional well-woman care for Mothers (whether it’s your first or fourth baby) has always included honoring birth as an initiation as an essential way to work with the energy, emotion, and profound changes that come in this sacred window of time.
Most of us are missing this vital link, which puts our vitality, joy, and long-term health at risk, and that is why we’re reweaving this work here.
Becoming a Mother is an initiation - we are impacted on every level - physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Our bodies, spirit and minds need tending in very specific ways that we can see from long-standing cross-cultural traditions worldwide.
It is through core support, closing ceremony, and recognition that a true rite of passage is complete.
Few of us in our modern mode have this kind of support and recognition.
When this passage is left untended and incomplete, Mothers are left open to deep depletion, anxiety, disorientation, disconnect, and unprocessed grief or rage (depressive symptoms).
Having the space and support to work with this initiation and rite of passage is key to vibrant health and maternal/family wellness. And it’s been missing for too long.
We need to remember that in the postpartum window, you are primed for a potent connection to your innate wisdom, vitality, and sovereignty.
We’re changing the way together.
